IPSWICH Town boss Paul Jewell, who revealed last night that he was hoping to sign at least one new player over the next week, has been linked with a move for Luton Town midfielder Andy Drury.
Despite playing in non-league throughout his career, Drury has caught the eye at Kenilworth Road this season and has been attracting the interest of clubs in League One and the Championship.
Town are reported to have made a bid of 150,000 for 27-year-old Drury, with Sheffield United and Coventry also in the frame.
Jewell also insisted, following Town’s 3-2 home win over Doncaster Rovers yesterday, that it didn’t have to be a case of “one in, one out” at Portman Road, in terms of transfers.
However, there remains speculation that skipper David Norris could be on his way to Portsmouth. Norris’ current contract expires this summer.
