IPSWICH Town are closing in on Southampton's Rudi Skácel.
The Czech Republic international, who played mainly left back for the Saints before going out on loan to Hertha Berlin in Germany for the latter half of last season, is available for around £1m.
The left-sided player, who will be 29 next week, started his career at FC Hradec Králové before joining Slavia Praha.
Skácel was signed by George Burley for Hearts from Marseille after being scouted by Simon Hunt and followed them to St Mary's.
