ROY Keane revealed that one of his players, unnamed, picked up an injury in training yesterday and so is set to miss tomorrow evening’s Carling Cup tie at home to Northampton.
Keane will already be without the services of the cup-tied Jack Colback and Jake Livermore, while Darren O’Dea and Mark Kennedy remain sidelined with injury.
“We’re had some tough games in the competition so far, and this will be another one, but we’re glad it’s a home game,” explained Keane.
“One of my players picked up an injury in training, but I’d rather not say who.
“Darren (O’Dea) has been a big loss. The specialist said he would be out for six weeks, following the initial operation, though hopefully we can shave a few days off,” added Keane.
The Irishman also revealed that he was still talking to one or two clubs about signing one more loan player, almost certainly a striker, although nothing was set to happen over the next week or so.
