WIGAN manager Jason Scotland has confirmed that Ipswich Town have shown ‘strong interest’ in striker Jason Scotland.

Town, who started the season with an impressive 3-1 win at Middlesbrough, are known to be in the market for a striker.

The Blues have previously been linked with Cardiff hitman Michael Chopra and Leicester City’s Matty Fryatt.

Of Scotland, Martinez told Wigan Today: “It’s fair to say there is strong interest there from Ipswich Town, and a few other clubs have also asked us about Jason.

“It’s just a case now of sitting down with all the parties and working out what is the best move for Wigan Athletic.”

Scotland has struggled at Wigan since moving to the Premier League club from Swansea. However, he made his name as a prolific striker for the Welsh team at Championship level.
