IPSWICH Town have confirmed the signing of 26-year-old goalkeeper Brian Murphy.
Called into the Republic of Ireland squad senior squad for the first time for their World Cup play-off against France later this month, Murphy has agreed an 18-month contract and will join Town when the transfer window opens in January.
He is set to make his last appearance for League of Ireland club Bohemians against Bray Wanderers tonight as their season comes to an end.
Murphy has been linked with a move to Town for some while, and he will offer stiff opposition to Richard Wright and possibly Asmir Begovic if the current on-loan Portsmouth keeper extends his current three-month Portman Road deal.
