LIAM Trotter plans to make the most of Grimsby Town's December League Two matches before returning to Portman Road and making an impact next year.
The 20-year-old midfielder has had his loan with Mariners extended into a third month but will stand idle this weekend because Grimsby are out of the FA Cup. Trotter said: “It's good for me to keep playing football, so I'm happy to be staying out on loan.“It may only be another three games before my time limit away from Ipswich is complete and I'm sure we'll get another win or two before my loan ends.
“We've now got a blank weekend and time to think about our Tuesday defeat at Macclesfield. People deal with it in their own way, but I won't be stewing over it.
“If we play like that from now until the end of the season we'll win more than we'll lose.”
