COLCHESTER United will entertain Ipswich Town in a pre-season friendly on Tuesday, July 23 (kick-off 7.45pm).

Last pre-season, Michael Chopra netted a brace in a 2-1 win for Town at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

Clinton Morrison, who is celebrating his 34th birthday today, scored for the U’s following his move from Sheffield Wednesday.

The previous summer, a friendly fixture between the two clubs was abandoned after 80 minutes, with the score at 0-0, due to a head injury incurred by U’s midfielder Andy Bond.
