Ipswich v Huddersfield: Town fans have not had a lot to smile about this week.
A heavy defeat at Blackpool, a shock cup exit at Carlisle and then frustration as the summer transfer window closed with no new defenders brought in.
And while a 2-2 draw at Huddersfield didn’t quite make up for the last seven days, Scott Loach’s late penalty save that earned the Blues a point left Town fans cheering at the end.
Quick off the mark, one Town fan - CherryHintonBlue – has already posted a You Tube video reliving the super spot-kick save.
Tweeting after the game, Loach said: “Man of the match and a penalty save buzzing too much! But also disappointed not to win. Huddesfield strong side tho!”
And the plaudits came from inside the dressing room as well.
Centre-back Tommy Smith said: “We should have won today! On the other hand could have lost it, @Iam_ScottLoach made some cracking saves. Fans were top draw as well!”
Ronan Murray, an unused sub, added: “Great saves @Iam_ScottLoach deserved man of the match! Decent point in the end but we should have wrapped up the 3 points earlier on!”
