EAGLES boss Neil Warnock has today confirmed Alan Lee is close to a move to Crystal Palace, with Ben Watson linked with a switch in the other direction.
Warnock said: “Alan is having a medical with us and we are hoping to agree personal terms.”
We revealed yesterday how Palace were given permission to talk to Lee after Ipswich had accepted a £600,000 bid, confirmed this morning by Town chief executive Derek Bowden.
Although things have move on significantly Lee is understood to be asking around £10,000 a week basic, which may be too much for Palace chairman Simon Jordan to agree to.
Palace's left-footed midfielder Ben Watson has also been linked with a move to Ipswich with Town paying £1.5m on top of the Lee price.
