Ipswich Town’s Championship home game with bitter East Anglian rivals Norwich City will be moved back a day to August 24, we understand.
The Blues and the Canaries were scheduled to meet for the first time April 2011, at Portman Road, on Saturday August 23, but the game will now be played a day later, with a noon kick-off mooted.
The fixture will represent Town’s second re-arranged kick-off in the first month, with their opening day clash at home to Fulham on Saturday August 9 having been picked for SKY TV coverage and a 5.15pm start.
After the visit of the Cottagers, Town will then travel to Crawley in the League Cup three days later, before away clashes at Reading and Birmingham precede the eagerly-awaited encounter with Neil Adams’ Carrow Road side.
More to follow.
