WEST HAM have recalled keeper Stephen Henderson from his loan with Ipswich Town.

The Irishman was due to remain at Portman Road until the end of the season, but the Hammers – who included a 24-hour recall clause in the 24-year-old’s second loan spell of the season with the Blues – have decided they need him for their Premier League run-in.

Henderson has kept six clean sheets in his last nine matches for Ipswich. He will now be replaced in goal by Scott Loach, though Blues boss Mick McCarthy does have until next Thursday to bring in a replacement on loan should he choose.

Town can name only five of their six domestic loanees – Richard Stearman (Wolves), Patrick Kisnorbo (Leeds), Reece Brown (Manchester United), Jay Tabb (Reading), Aaron Mclean (Hull) and David McGoldrick (Nottingham Forest) – in a matchday squad.
