CONNOR Wickham has already undergone a medical in the north-east and could sign for Sunderland later today.
It is now only a matter of WHEN, not will, Wickham finally put pen to paper on a deal that could be worth more than 12m for Ipswich Town, subject to appearances.
Town are expected to receive a down payment of 9m for Wickham, easily smashing the club record fee received by a player of 6m, for Kieron Dyer and Richard Wright.
Sunderland could announce the official signing of the 18-year-old later today.
