PAUL Jewell has insisted he will make more signings this summer – regardless of the outcome of Connor Wickham’s anticipated move to Sunderland.
With his prize asset expected to wrap up a deal to the Premier League side, the Ipswich Town manager said that the situation with the teenage striker changes nothing.
Jewell said: “There has obviously been a lot of talk about Connor this week but we will be adding numbers to the squad whatever happens.
“I’m obviously pleased that we have brought in three players (Michael Chopra, Ivar Ingimarsson and Nathan Ellington) and there will be more to follow.
“That does not depend on any player leaving. Like I said, we need to add to the squad and we will be. I’ve been on the phone all summer and I’m sure that won’t change for a while yet!”
