Wickham out of derby, McAuley injured for months

GARETH McAuley will be out for a few months after undergoing an operation on his sore Achilles tendon at the start of this week, while Connor Wickham will miss Sunday’s derby game.

GARETH McAuley will be out for a few months after undergoing an operation on his sore Achilles tendon at the start of this week.

And Ipswich Town boss Roy Keane has suffered another blow, on the eve of Sunday’s East Anglian derby at Norwich, with Connor Wickham out for two weeks with a thigh injury.

Keane revealed, during this morning’s press conference: “Gareth has had an operation and will be out for a number of months.

“It’s a massive blow to us, and I know that Gareth is devastated.

“Connor has a thigh injury and will be out for two weeks, which is frustrating because I was planning to throw him in for this weekend,” added Keane.

Wickham picked up the injury while playing for the Reserves in miweek.
