DESPITE manager Roy Keane naming an unchanged side just one fan got the selection right before the 7pm cut-off prior to Tuesday's Championship 1-1 draw at Scunthorpe.

And he lives in Germany!

Wilfried Barbknecht, who was one player out for the Sheffield Wednesday game last weekend, e-mailed in and said: “I hope and pray Roy Keane picks the same eleven who played so well at Hillsborough.

“It simply cannot be change for change's sake or can it? He might be tempted to play Rosenoir at right-back, though

“I listen on the internet to all Town matches and have been to Portman Road once or twice nearly every year since 1976, though the last time was at the end of 2007.”

Keane has explained his team selection rules. He said: “There are a number of reasons for team changes. Sometimes it's gut feelings, other times players might be carrying knocks that the media might not be aware of.

“But I'm not going to be clever for the sake of it. Sometimes you've got to look at it and ask do any of my players who started the previous game deserve to be left out, that's the question I ask myself.

“I have to look at one or two of the younger players, and its prevention more than anything else.

“As a manager I've got to look at the bigger picture all of the time.”

Well done to Wilfried.

After Tuesday's game, Keane said: “I may be considered a number of things but it would have been cruel to have made changes after the win at Wednesday.”

A sample of the many attempts before Tuesday's game are:

- Jason Rigby: B Murphy, O'Connor, McAuley, Delaney, D Wright, Leadbitter, Norris, Colback, Walters, D Murphy, Healy.

-Stephen Bailey was a bit too cautious with his entry - 'unchanged from Saturday or Roseinor in for Wright.'

- Mel Butler: B Murphy, D Wright, McAuley, Delaney, Colback, Edwards, Norris, Leadbitter, Peters, D Murphy, Walters.

- Paul Barber: B Murphy; D.Wright, McAuley, Delaney, O'Connor; Edwards, Leadbitter, Colback, Peters; D Murphy, Walters

- Paul Jarrett: B Murphy, Rosenior, McAuley, Delaney, O'Connor, Colback, Leadbitter, Norris, Edwards, D Murphy, Walters.

- Matthew Flude: B Murphy, D Wright, McAuley, Delaney, O'Connor, Edwards, Leadbitter, Norris, Healy, D Murphy, Walters.

- WHY not join the scores of Town fans trying to read manager Roy Keane's mind? E-mail in your proposed selection before 1.45pm on Saturday before the home Bristol City game to elvin.king@eveningstar.co.uk.

We will sort out a prize the next time Wilfried comes over to England and will reward subsequent 'winners' as the quest goes on.
