YORK City have told Jai Reason they won't be taking him on loan after failing to impress in a trial match against Grimsby.
The Blues reserve team midfielder returns to Portman Road after City boss Richard Walker said he didn't have the strength to handle the Blue Square Premier League.
He said: “Jai was very strong technically, but the Blue Square Premier might be a bit strong for him.”
Liam Trotter will look to make his Grimsby debut against Morecambe today after joining on a month's loan, while Town continue to look to send players out.
Jamie Peters could be the next to go with defender Kurt Robinson also attracting some interest.
Manager Jim Magilton has insisted if players go out then they should be playing and has already threatened to recalls Ed Upson from Stevenage as he is not getting games.
