Goals either side of half-time from Sam Ford and Shane McLoughlin were enough for Ipswich Town Under 21s to beat Bolton 2-1 last night.

Alex Samizadeh had given the visitors the lead at Portman Road but, just before the break, James Alabi teed up Ford to fire home from 20 yards to level matters.

Mark Kennedy’s side were ahead five minutes after the interval, as McLoughlin followed up Ford’s saved shot to put the ball into an open goal.

Bolton pushed late on but Town held on to secure the win.

Next up for Kennedy’s side is a visit to Huddersfield next Monday lunchtime.
