There is also the option to extend the deal for a further 12 months.

The teenager has been a regular fixture in the Blues’ Under 23 side this season, scoring twice, with both goals coming in a 5-2 win away at Nottingham Forest.

He also made his first-team debut for Ipswich earlier this campaign, coming off the bench to assists Bersant Celina’s consolation goal against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup at Selhurst Park, on a night where manager Mick McCarthy fielded a number of young players.

He is yet to make his first appearance in the Championship.
