Ipswich Hockey Club’s women’s first team travel up the A140 on Saturday for a derby game against the Norwich Dragons (1.15pm).

Ipswich will be keen to carry on their unbeaten run in East Premier A, whilst their hosts will be looking to get back to winning ways after losing two games on the bounce.

Coach Mariette Rix has a full squad to choose from and that means a few changes from last week’s 1-0 win over Cambridge. Lucy Dunnett, Megan Dawson and Mary Sacker come back into the team whilst Beth Scott will play for the seconds.

Rix will be hoping that the conversion rate is much higher than last weekend. She said: “I felt we dominated the scoring chances last Saturday but we almost got caught out right at the end because we had not closed the game out. Luckily for us our keeper Ali Barham is in great form and she made a great save.

“Training has gone really well and I am expecting us to convert some more of our chances against Norwich.”
