Colchester United boss John McGreal was full of praise for his side following today’s excellent 1-0 away win at play-off chasing Luton Town.
Craig Slater fired home the winner through a crowded penalty area in the 83rd minute, following a corner.
McGreal enthused: “It’s a terrific win.
“I’m delighted with this late Christmas present.
“It was very nip and tuck throughout the game, with two good teams really going at it.
“It was a great strike by Craig (Slater). He picked out the corner through a crowded box.
“He has got great technique, and he had set his sights up with a couple of earlier shots.
“There were tons of bodies in both boxes, whenever the crosses came in.
“And in the end, that little bit of quality from Craig has won us the game and won us the three points,” added McGreal.
