ITALY have won the 2006 World Cup after beating France on penalties.
The final finished 1-1 after extra time, with Italy's Marco Materazzi equalising Zinedine Zidane's seventh minute penalty.
The Italians scored all five of their penalties in the shoot-out and David Trezeguet's miss condemned the 1998 champions to defeat in Berlin.
France had been reduced to 10 men in extra time when Zidane was sent off for an outrageous butt on Materazzi, ending his career in disgrace.
