COLCHESTER United got back to winning ways this afternoon with a single-goal success against Swindon Town at Layer Road.
The result ended a miserable run of seven defeats and one draw in the U's last eight matches and boosted their hopes of promotion from League One to the Championship at the end of the season.
The only goal of the game came in the 14th minute through a Chris Iwelumo penalty - his 17th goal of the season - after Tony Thorpe, who was making his first start for the club, was fouled as he tried to go round the visiting goalkeeper.
