Ipswich Town have reached a mutual agreement with striker James Alabi to prematurely terminate his contract.
The powerful front man joined the Blues in the summer, after being released by Stoke City, and made his debut for the club as a substitute in the Capital One Cup extra-time win at Doncaster – scoring the third of Town’s four goals that night.
That proved to be his only first team appearance though. The 21-year-old was loaned to Conference National side Grimsby Town at the back end of last year, where he made just three sub appearances.
