MILDENHALL Town manager Tony Lyes admits has been left scratching his head as his side's Jeykll and Hyde performances this season.

Town have won 12 of their 14 home matches this campaign, including all six of their league games at Recreation Way, but at times have looked a completely different team on the road.

Six defeats in 11 away matches has stopped the Suffolk side putting any sort of run together and, as a result, they find themselves ninth in the table.

“We are very disappointed with our inconsistency,” said Lyes, who jointly manages the club alongside Dave Pinkowski . “We are certainly blowing hot and cold and it's a job to put our finger on why that is. We are working on things the whole time and are trying to analyse the problem.”

Such is Mildenhall's inconsistency that they have failed to go more than two matches unbeaten this season.

However, all that could change today when the Suffolk side, who have taken four points from their last two league games, embark on a period of four home games in the next five.

Today's visitors are a Woodbridge Town who, despite being in the lower reaches of the table, became one of the few teams to take a point against league-leaders Lowestoft last week.

Lyes said: “They are a good, honest, young side that try and play football so I think our match should be an entertaining encounter.

“We are still hoping we can finish in the top six this season if we can put a run together. Woodbridge could be the start of one of those runs as any home game gives us a chance.”

Meanwhile, in the British Gas Business League Midlands Division One

Following victories in the FA Trophy and the GX League Cup in the past week, Bury return to Southern League action today for the visit of Barton Rovers to Ram Meadow.

They will again be without the Reed brothers, who are unavailable, but Gavin Johnson is fit again and Roscoe Hipperson played for half an hour on Tuesday, and will be in the squad

Marcus Garnham suffered a groin strain on Tuesday, but should be fit to return, as will Ashley Sloots after recovering from illness.

Manager Richard Wilkins is likely to start with a striking partnership of Liam Barrett and Steve Bugg, with Andrew Wood on the bench. In form winger Scott Chaplin is available and should start, as Bury look to win their games in hand and catch up with the leading pack.

In the same division, AFC Sudbury visit a Romulus side five places below them.

Leiston face only their third Saturday home Ridgeons League fixture of the season today against Stanway Rovers. Due to their cup exploits, Leiston have seven games in hand on leaders Lowestoft and have managed to maintain a top five position all season. Today Manager Carl Chenery has a full squad to chose from as they look to overcome Stanway at home for the first time in four years. Squad from; Stannard, Wagner, Girling, Button, Wardley, D Head, Goldfinch, Lowe, S Head, Boardley, Seaman, Saker, Eagle, Bramble, Chenery, McGlone and Sillett

Elsewhere, in the Ridgeons League Premier Division, league-leaders Lowestoft Town will be looking to get back to winning ways when they host lowly Whitton United, while eighth-placed Needham Market welcome Felixstowe & Walton United.

Other matches see Kirkley & Pakefield travel to Ely City and Haverhill Rovers go to the newly rejuvenated Harwich & Parkeston.

In Division One, second place Newmarket Town visit Debenham LC, while third place Hadleigh United host March Town United.
