The pair have both been mentioned in connection with the Blues and listed by bookmakers after it was announced Mick McCarthy will be leaving in the summer, with McGreal’s Colchester running out 2-1 winners over Jones’s Luton this afternoon.

The result at the Weston Homes Community Stadium leaves McGreal’s U’s six points off the final play-off place, while Luton lost top spot to Accrington Stanley.
The Hatters sit second, seven points clear of fourth place as they bid for automatic promotion.
McGreal has drifted out with the bookmakers after being one of the early favourites for the position, sitting at 14/1 at the time of writing, while Jones sits at 20/1. Danny Cowley of Lincoln and Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray remain favourites.
