KAYODE Odejayi has been named as Colchester United’s official player-of-the-season, at tonight’s awards ceremony.

Striker Odejayi has led the front-line with power and strength all campaign, although he has not scored since last October.

Tom Eastman scooped two awards. The ex-Ipswich Town defender was named young player-of-the-season, and also Colchester United Supporters’ Association’s away player-of-the-season.

Anthony Wordsworth also featured prominently with two awards. His goal away at Charlton was voted the goal-of-the-season, and the midfielder was also voted the players’ player-of-the-season.

Wordsworth also finished second to Odejayi in the main category, with keeper Ben Williams in third.

Kem Izzet was named the CUSA home player-of-the-season, and also the Community player-of-the-season.

Ipswich Town trio Andre Dozzell, Flynn Downes and Trevoh Chalobah could have the chance to impress the club’s new management when England’s Under-20s take on Germany in Colchester tonight (7pm ko).
