A SOFT goal by Paul Berry after just seven minutes was enough to give Woodbridge victory at Cornard on Tuesday night, but the visitors had enough chances to have won more comfortably.
A SOFT goal by Paul Berry after just seven minutes was enough to give Woodbridge victory at Cornard on Tuesday night, but the visitors had enough chances to have won more comfortably.
Berry tucked the ball home after keeper Colin Athey spilled the ball as he dived at Berry's feet to collect a quickly-taken free-kick.
Athey redeemed himself with good saves from Tom Trevivian and Arran Sheppard before the interval.
Cornard worked hard throughout but were thankful for fines saves from substitute keeper Rob Tanner from Ben Garnham, Luke Read, Aaron Churchyard and Mark Roper before Cornard captain Adam Warren almost stole an equaliser with virtually the last kick of the game.
