COLCHESTER United's past and present have been honoured in the Coca-Cola Championship's Team of the Week, with Wayne Brown and Kem Izzet both included in the best XI.
U's midfielder Izzet was rewarded for an inspirational performance in the impressive 3-0 win at Preston last Saturday. He was named in central midfield alongside Barnsley's Brian Howard, who the previous weekend had converted two penalties in the 2-2 draw at Layer Road.
And Brown, who moved from Colchester to Hull in a £450,000 deal last month, was also selected in the Team of the Week thanks to a solid display in the Tigers central defence during their 2-1 home win over Norwich City.
Izzet is the second Colchester player to be chosen in the Team of the Week this season, after fellow midfielder Johnnie Jackson's inclusion for his role in the 2-2 draw at Sheffield United on the opening day of the campaign.
