NEEDHAM left back and former Ipswich Town player Kevin Horlock says that getting to Portman Road makes up for losing out on a place at Wembley Stadium in the FA Vase.

Horlock, who helped Needham beat Ipswich 1-0 in the Suffolk Premier Cup semi-final last night, said: “The FA Vase was kind to us, and with respect to Chalfont St Peter we should have taken it.”

“It was so disappointing but this is a pick-me-up.

The former Town midfielder added: “I would have liked to have stayed at Portman Road longer and been more successful, and from manager Danny Laws downwards we are all over the moon to be going there.

“We set out stall out to limit their chances last night and we hung in there.

“It was a great strike by Richard Butler and like his central defensive partner Rhys Barber he works hard at his game.”
