Kevin Bru is set to make his 100th Ipswich Town appearance at Wolves tomorrow - but the midfielder is unsure just how much longer he will be at Portman Road.
The Paris-born player was told he could leave the club in the summer after asking manager Mick McCarthy for a transfer, coming close to a move to French top-flight side Toulouse before a deadline day switch fell through, and is out of contract at the end of the season.
Bru is still keen on a return to France as he searches for regular first-team football, but has found himself back in the first-team fold under McCarthy due to the Blues’ mounting midfield injury problems.
He is likely to be involved in some capacity at Molineux, with Cole Skuse struggling with an ankle injury, but the 29-year-old admitted he would still be open to a January move if the right offer became available.
“At the moment I don’t know (what will happen),” Bru said. “I’m still here and we’ll see what’s happening in January.

“I asked him (McCarthy) and we had a discussion before the end of the season and I told him maybe I want to go. He told me ‘OK, if you want to go, you can go’ so he said no problem. But I’m still here.
“I want to play every week. When I was in France I started every game and that’s what I want. I told him I maybe want to go back to France and he said ‘OK, you can go’.
“I got some offers from the second division and from Toulouse, but it didn’t work out. Maybe I would stay in England or maybe I would go to France. I don’t know, at the moment I can’t say.
“But I am still here. Ipswich is a good club and sometimes I play games and I will always give my best. I’m still happy here and it was just because I want to try and play more games.”

Bru revealed he has spent time training with the Blues’ young players this season but, while some players would see that as beneath them, the Mauritius international insists he has no problem with McCarthy’s decision.
“I have trained with the first team. Sometimes with the young team but no problem for me. If he asks me to go and play with the young team then that’s his choice, I’m still under contract.
“That’s no problem for me. That’s life. Sometimes you have good things in your life and sometimes you have bad things.
“If I’m not involved then what can I do? I go out and train hard for myself and then see what happens next.
“In my head I was like ‘if you’re not involved in the first team, do your things and work hard and be ready for the next move’. You never know in football.”

Looking ahead to the clash at Molineux, Bru is hopeful his side can draw on their team spirit to earn a positive result at the home of the leaders.
“It’s a good season for us and from the last few games we did a good job and took some points, so hopefully we can continue at Wolves on Saturday,” he said.
“At the moment we feel confident, we know we have good players and you can feel the squad is all together. Maybe that spirit is something we missed last season or two years ago, so maybe we can use that to grasp something and maybe go to the play-offs.”
