Ipswich Town boss Mick McCarthy says he has not explored his options regarding getting Kevin Bru out of the club.

The French-born, Mauritian international midfielder arrived as a free agent in 2014 and made 94 appearances for the Blues over three seasons before getting transfer-listed this summer as McCarthy looked to freshen up his squad.

“He can’t find a club,” said McCarthy, the transfer window in England having closed at the end of August.

“I don’t know if the Middle East or any other part of the world can still do business? I’ve not explored that. If there is and somebody wants him then he can still leave.

“I thought about giving him a squad number and involving him, but I’ve got Flynn Downes and Tristan Nydam. If they are the future of the club I don’t want to be going back to the future. I want to be looking ahead.

“He’s training with the first team and is fit and is raring to go for someone else.”

In the past, Town have torn up unwanted player’s contracts after coming to a financial agreement.

Meanwhile, McCarthy was full of praise for Tom Adeyemi following his positive impact off the bench at QPR last weekend. The summer signing from Cardiff had a delayed start to life with the Blues due to illness and injury, but could make his full debut in tomorrow’s Championship home lcahs with Bolton.

“I thought he livened us up last weekend,” said McCarthy. “He had one great tackle right in front of the dug-out. It takes that sometimes. I always remember us playing Crystal Palace here and Stears (Richard Stearman) getting Jonny Parr with a great tackle. Cressie (Aaron Cresswell) nailed someone when we were losing against Derby I seem to recall too.

“That lifts the crowd and lifts everyone. Tom did that last weekend. He played his game on Monday (in the Under-23s) and has been alright since.”
