GOALKEEPER Lance Key has left the Glass World Stadium for Wivenhoe Town to continue his career as a player whilst he continues to look for a role as goal keeping coach.

Histon manager Steve Fallon was asked by the Histon board to release all non contract players as the club continues to operate within its agreed playing budget.

Tonight Histon travel to Ebbsfleet United in a game being shown live on Setanta. Danny Wright could make his comeback after injury.

On the subject of Key, Fallon said “Lance has been brilliant for us as a player and in his four years at the club has along with his family become a very popular, but as with most things nothing is forever.

“We now have Joe Welch as number two keeper and for a club of our size a goal keeping coach is a luxury and at the moment we have to cut out the luxuries. I have no problem with operating within the restraints of the budget and in fact think its a good thing that people see we don't have a bottomless pit of money.”

On the playing front Fallon confirmed that it was expected that Danny Wright might make the bench for Saturday's home fixture against Salisbury City but that he did not think he would be ready to start until the live Setanta game Monday night at Ebbsfleet.
