KEZIE Ibe's double sent Chelmsford City on their way to a comprehensive first win of the season as they defeated Boreham Wood 4-1 on Monday.
The Clarets took the honours in this Ryman League Premier Division clash thanks largely to their stunning first-half attacking display.
And City's assistant manager, Glenn Pennyfather, was delighted with the way last term's top-scorer reacted to being re-introduced following a weekend on the substitutes' bench. He said: “I was pleased with how Kezie and Dean Palmer played after being brought into the team. We have a number of players and intend to use them as a proper squad.”
The freshness of the talent on the bench also led to substitute Jason Hallett getting on the score-sheet to add to Lee Protheroe's pinpoint free-kick, with the introduction of speedster Ricky Holmes also having an effect as Boreham Wood's Joe Reynolds fouled him to earn a second yellow card.
