IPSWICH Witches rider Tobi Kroner is just five rides away from the 2008 Grand Prix Series after he was successful in Slovenia at the weekend in his semi-final, scoring 10 points, which proved enough to secure him a spot in the final.
The Witches' young German star acquitted himself well in a quality field that featured several riders with Elite League and previous GP experience. Kroner tied for third spot but lost out in a three-way run-off for the final rostrum position.
Riders such as former Witch Jarek Hampel and Sweden's Mickael Max both failed to make the cut, as did another former Witch, Pepe Protasiewicz.
