BLUES' boss Jim Magilton has swooped to sign former Town striker Shefki Kuqi on loan from Crystal Palace.
Kuqi became available from Palace after upsetting his own fans with a gesture and was told by manager Neil Warnock that he would not play for the club again.
Magilton moved quickly when Jon Walters was told he would miss most of the rest of the season as he needs an operation on his left knee.
Kuqi enjoyed success in his first spell with Ipswich Town after scoring on his debut against Watford in his first game on loan from Sheffield Wednesday and the move was then made permanent.
He will go straight into the Blues' squad to play against Charlton tomorrow, subject to paperwork being completed.
