LAKESIDE Hammers have signed Australian International Davey Watt from the 2011 Elite League champions, Poole Pirates.
Watt has been a regular guest for the Hammers over the last few years and will fill a heat leader role for his new Club.
The Hammers Co Promoter, Jon Cook, commented on this new signing stating: “Davey’s signature is a great start to our team plans and I know he is a very popular rider with our fans and a great character to have in the team. Davey’s a great signing for us and the fact we were his preferred choice once his place at Poole was in question is very gratifying”.
The Hammers Team Manager, Neil Vatcher, says “I can’t wait to work with Davey and having met up with him a few times over the last few weeks I know he is very much looking forward to becoming a Hammer”
Speaking from Australia Davey Watt said on his signing for the Hammers: “I’m pleased to be joining the Hammers. I like the track, the fans always seem to get behind the team and I am really impressed with what Stuart (Douglas) and Jon (Cook) have achieved. I hope that I can help them to achieve their ultimate goal of winning the Elite League title.”
