Pacey striker models himself on Thierry Henry. The 23-year-old was a regular for England at various age groups, but has never made the breakthrough at Villa. Had loan spells at Burnley, Leicester, Blackpool and Coventry.

CHELSEA

Henrique Hilario

Veteran keeper, 38, has been released by Chelsea after making 20 appearances in seven seasons. The one-time Portuguese capped player may want to stay in England

Sam Hutchinson

The tough-tackling 24-year-old is capable of playing in central midfield or right-back. Impressed on loan at Sheffield Wednesday at the end of last season.

CRYSTAL PALACE

Kagisho Dikgacoi

South African-born player, 29, has been the unsung defensive midfielder in Crystal Palace’s free-flowing side. Excelled during their promotion and made 26 appearances in the Premier League last season.

Danny Gabbidon

The Welsh defender will almost certainly be looking for a Championship club at the age of 34. Could provide good competition to Christophe Berra, Tommy Smith and Luke Chambers.

Dean Moxey

Versatile left-back, 28, has been a useful squad player for Derby and Palace in recent years. Been linked with a move to Wolves following his release.

Jonathan Parr

Attack-minded, blond-haired left-back would be an excellent replacement for Aaron Cresswell should he leave. The Norwegian-born 25-year-old made nearly 100 appearances for the Eagles, despite suffering from injuries.

Julian Speroni

The 35-year-old Argentine keeper made over 300 appearances for Palace during a decade at the club.

Aaron Wilbraham

Striker, 34, has been involved in Championship promotions with Norwich and Palace in recent years. A target man rather than a goalscorer.

EVERTON

Apostolos Vellios

Hailed as Greek football’s next big thing before his move to Everton, but made just 22 appearances during his three-and-a-half years at Goodison Park. The 22-year-old had a brief loan spell at Blackpool.

HULL

Abdoulaye Faye

Towering Senegalese centre-back has played for Bolton, Newcastle, Stoke, West Ham and Hull. A key player when Hull were promoted, but 36-year-old was limited to just three appearances in the Premier League last season.

Matthew Fryatt

Striker will not be short of Championship suitors following his release by Hull. The 28-year-old finished the campaign on loan at Sheffield Wednesday, scoring four goals in nine appearances.

Robert Koren

Creative midfielder’s agent says five Championship cubs have already shown interest. The 33-year-old Slovenian has achieved promotion to the Premier League with both West Brom and Hull.

MANCHESTER CITY

Alex Nimely

Liberian-born winger, 23, was once described as ‘the most talented youngster Manchester City have signed’ by former boss Sven Goran Erikssen. Signed a four-year deal, but made just one senior appearance. Pace and skill caught the eye during loan spells at Middlesbrough, Coventry and Crystal Palace.

NEWCASTLE

Shola Ameobi

Powerful striker, 32, made more than 300 appearances for the Magpies during his 14 years at the club. Switch to Ipswich fell through in 2008 after he failed a medical.

SOUTHAMPTON

Guly do Prado

Brazilian striker, 32, helped Southampton gain back-to-back promotions into the Premier League. Found his chances limited in the top-flight.

STOKE

Matthew Etherington

Experienced left-winger, 32, has played for Tottenham, West Ham and Stoke, but has struggled with form and fitness in recent years. Return to the Championship looks likely.

SUNDERLAND

Carlos Cuellar

Spanish defender can play at right-back or centre-back. Aston Villa paid close to £8m for his signature in 2008. The 32-year-old says he is keen to stay in English football.

Keiren Westwood

Former Manchester City youngster was League One keeper of the year with Carlisle and Championship keeper of the year with Coventry. Republic of Ireland international, 29, impressed in the Premier League whenever deputising for Simon Mignolet and Vito Mannone at Sunderland.

SWANSEA

David Ngog

French striker, 25, made 63 appearances for Liverpool before a £4m switch to Bolton. Fulham had a £3m bid for the clever link-up man turned down last summer, he moved to Swansea in January and is now a free agent.

WEST BROM

Zoltan Gera

Attacking-midfielder has been in English football for 10 years – two spells at West Brom sandwiching a period at Fulham. Hungarian captain, 35, has struggled with injuries in recent years.

Diego Lugano

The Uruguayan centre-back, 33, made some high profile errors in the Premier League for West Brom last season. Has played for the likes of Fenerbache, Paris St Germain and Malaga though.

Steven Reid

Former Millwall, Blackburn and West Brom man, 33, converted to right-back after playing much of his career in midfield. Earned his first Republic of Ireland cap under Mick McCarthy.

Liam Ridgewell

Former Aston Villa, Birmingham and West Brom defender has played 11 seasons in the Premier League and is still only 29. Primarily a centre-back who can also play at left-back.

WEST HAM

Joe Cole

Attacking midfielder, 32, has been capped 52 times by England and played for the likes of West Ham, Chelsea and Liverpool. Having played very little football in the last three seasons, Londoner says money won’t be a factor when choosing next club.

Jack Collison

Versatile midfielder has been released by West Ham after making more than 100 appearances for his boyhood club. Welsh international finished the season on loan at Wigan and played in the FA Cup semi-final.

George McCartney

Northern Irish defender, 33, starred at Sunderland under Mick McCarthy’s management. Loved by West Ham fans for his committed performances, but struggled with injuries in recent years.
