Captain Joe Robinson was sent off late on as Ipswich Town’s under 21s lost 1-0 at Colchester United this lunchtime.
The defender was penalised for fouling Colchester’s Femi Akinwande in the area in the 85th minute, with the U’s man picking himself up to slot home the penalty and win the game.
Luke Varney, who hit the post in the first half, Larsen Toure, Paul Digby and Jay Tabb were all involved in the game, having also been with the first-team squad at Bristol City on Saturday.
