THE season of The Essex Olympian Football League will kick off to a great start thanks to LFC Insurance Group.

For the next three years the insurance company has agreed to sponsor the historic league.

Jerry Clayton, the managing director, said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring The Essex Olympian Football League. The league provides local clubs with a great opportunity to play a higher standard of football.

“I used to play in the league myself many years ago and this is my way of supporting it once again.

“We wish The Essex Olympian Football League and all its members a very successful 2007/2008 season and we look forward to meeting many of its players and officials over the coming months.”

The Essex Olympian Football League was founded in 1966 to provide a stepping stone for clubs wanting to progress into senior football. Many of the league's former clubs have moved on to greater things, including Billericay Town, who not only play senior football but have also in the past won the FA Vase.

Jerry Clayton established LFC Insurance Group in 1988 and since its formation it has grown to be one of the top 50 commercial insurance brokers within the UK. Their head office in South Woodham Ferrers, will move during 2008 to Latchington, and they also have offices in Westcliff-on-Sea and Eastbourne.

Members of LFC will watch the Essex Olympian League Challenge Cup Final at White Ensign FC, Eastwoodbury Lane Playing Field, Southend, on August 28 (7.45pm).
