Leiston and Needham Market have today discovered their first foes as they prepare to embark on a new season in a new league.

The Suffolk duo, along with Lowestoft Town, will compete in the Evostik Premier Division Central in the coming campaign.

Leiston finished fifth in the Bostik Premier last season – their highest-ever league position – and just missed out on a play-off final, losing 1-0 to Dulwich Hamlet in the semi-final.

But Glenn Driver’s men will be raring to go in this new league, and start their campaign at home to Coalville Town at 3pm on Saturday, August 11.

Needham, who endured a difficult final season in the Bostik Premier, finishing 19th, hit the road for a tussle at Bedworth United on the opening day.

Lowestoft, who flirted with relegation before finishing 22nd, will travel to Halesowen Town for their first fixture in the new league, which also features King’s Lynn Town.
