LEISTON boss Mark Morsley has scooped the Ryman Premier League manager of the month award for December.
It is just rewards for the Blues who have steadily moved up the table after propping it up in mid-November.
Since their November 17 defeat at leaders Whitehawk the North Suffolk side have embarked on an eight-game unbeaten run, moving them to within six points of the play-off spots.
In December Leiston defeated Carshalton Athletic, Harrow Borough and Met Police all 1-0, Enfield Town 3-1 and drew at Suffolk neighbours Bury Town 3-3, giving Morsley and Leiston the best record in December and making them the current form side of the division.
After outplaying one of the favourites for promotion Lowestoft Town on New Year’s Day, but only claiming a point thanks to Jack Defty’s late leveller, the Blues welcome Bury Town to Victory Road on Saturday looking to continue their good run of form.
