Despite a much improved second half display Leiston fell to their first defeat of the season in the Ryman League Premier Division, 2-0 at Canvey Island.
It was the Islanders who went ahead on 13 minutes when Heale was in the right place to tap home after Johnson had parried Mason’s shot from the edge of the box.
Steve Tilson’s doubled their lead 25 minutes later through a disputed penalty that King dispatched.
Leiston were denied a penalty when Orlo bundled over Head at the end of the first half but a much-improved second half display from Leiston failed to bring any rewards.
