The East Suffolk side will be looking for a first win away to the London club since September 2014 when Leiston won 1-0 courtesy of a late Gareth Heath strike.

Glenn Driver’s side were bitterly disappointed to concede a last-minute equaliser at home to high-flying Margate on Tuesday night at Victory Road, but the manager was proud of the character his side showed.

“The result was hard to take on Tuesday evening because of how well we had performed,” Driver said.

“After losing Chris Henderson through injury and then going a goal behind at the break, we showed loads of character to come back and scored two goals by Dom (Dominic Docherty) and Jake Reed to put us in a good position.

“However, we must learn to manage games better and see games out. In saying that, to be disappointed with a team second in the league shows how far we have come.”

In the reverse fixture at Victory Road earlier on in the season between the Blues and Kingstonian, goals from Patrick Brothers and Byron Lawrence sealed a 2-0 win. Leiston sit eighth in the league at present, four points off fifth position (the last play-off spot).

“We go into the Kingstonian game looking for three points and high on confidence. We know that anything less than a win will make it harder for us to try and get into the play-off places,” added Driver.

After tomorrow’s match, Leiston have 10 league matches remaining, six of which are at Victory Road.

Tuesday night’s scheduled Suffolk Premier Cup semi-final has been postponed as Lowestoft Town are in home action in the league. A new date will be confirmed very soon.

Meanwhile, the Reserves Suffolk Senior Cup semi-final against Bungay Town has been called off tomorrow afternoon.

On Wednesday evening they drew 2-2 against ten men Wisbech St Mary. They twice came from behind to earn a point thanks to goals from Paris Tuwizana and Jac Garrard. The win sees them move up to 10th place in the Thurlow Nunn First Division. They host Norwich CBS in the league on Tuesday evening.
