IPSWICH ‘Sackers’ Witches return to full strength at Foxhall Stadium tonight, with a visit from Leicester Lions.

And team boss Pete Simmons is hoping the returning Taylor Poole and Chris Mills can slot straight into the groove, as the Witches look to build on their fine win at Berwick at the weekend.

However Simmons is wary of lowly Leicester who have strengthened much in the last month or so.

“This is no easy meeting,” Simmons said.

“Leicester have strengthened up considerably and have a few good riders who could give us problems if we don’t get on top early on. It’s nice to have Taylor and Chris returning, but the rest of the team will need to be at their best as it may take a heat or two for of them to get up to speed.”

The Suffolk side haven’t ridden at home for almost a month but in that time skipper Kevin Doolan has been working alongside Chris Louis, who has been helping him with engines, after a poor run of scores for the home No.1.

Simmons knows the importance of Doolan to the team and is confident his bad patch is behind him.

“Kevin has looked a different rider over the last few meetings now mounted on a Chris Louis-prepared engine,” Simmons added.

He was unlucky at Newcastle to be disqualified in one heat as he certainly would have hit double figures and I’m sure we will all see a big improvement in him tonight.”

While a Premier League title is probably out of the question for the Witches this season, there are still plenty of league points up for grabs, not to forget team places for 2012, as the side looks to finish on a high.

Nothing less than three points will be the order of the day in this clash.

Teams:

Ipswich: 1. Kevin Doolan, 2. Taylor Poole, 3. Mathieu Tresarrieu, 4. Morten Risager, 5. Lasse Bjerre, 6. Jerran Hart, 7. Chris Mills.

Leicester: 1. Kauko Nieminen, 2. Jan Graversen, 3. Iliya Bondarenko, 4. Henning Bager, 5. Magnus Karlsson, 6. John Oliver, 7. Charles Wright.

ALL children (aged 6-15) will be admitted free during the summer holidays, including tonight, as long as they are accompanied by a paying adult and have a voucher from the Evening Star.
