Team manager Laurence Rogers said: “It was a great tour in some ways, with some good team bonding, including a ten-pin bowling tournament at Newcastle and a party with the fans at Berwick, but on the track it was disappointing to come away with just one point and a rain-off.
“I had high hopes that we would return home with points in the bag to strengthen our quest for reaching the end-of-season competitions but it was not to be. At Newcastle we looked in a strong position when leading 15-9 after four heats even after conceding a 5-1 in the first race but it just did not come off for us.
“We had riders who had good nights at Edinburgh having an off-night at Newcastle and vice-versa - - we had some who had 'mares of meetings in Scotland doing well in Geordieland!”
