LOWESTOFT referee David Hackney has been presented with a 25 years’ long service award by Suffolk FA Chief Executive Phil Knight.
David was unable to attend last month’s Night of 1,000 Years event, which honoured referees who have given 25, 40 and 50 years’ of service to refereeing football, due to ill health.
He started refereeing in 1973 and is currently serving Suffolk FA as a mentor and assessor. David is a stalwart to the Referees’ Association having served as treasurer of the Lowestoft branch for the last 35 years.
