Lowestoft Town striker Jake Reed heads an impressive-looking list of new signings announced by AFC Sudbury manager David Batch today.
With 10 players already contracted to the club ahead of the new Ryman League North campaign, Reed, who scored 20 goals for the Trawlerboys last season as they were promoted from the Ryman Premier, joins former Heybridge Swifts midfielder Ryan Maxwell, ex-Witham winger Kris Newby and erstwhile Grays skipper Craig Pope at the club.
Joining that quartet at Kings Marsh is 6ft 4ins defender Lawrence Yiga who ended last season at Ware, former Waltham Abbey goalscorer Ayrton Coley and 17-year-old midfielder Jack Guyton from Wroxham.
The club have high hopes for the new season, having gained 31 points more than the previous season, reached the club’s first cup final for a number of years and had good runs in both the FA Cup and FA Trophy.
Batch also has trialists who have recently departed football league clubs joining in pre-season, and is looking forward to integrating the experience of the players signed into the core of his young squad.
