Ipswich Town skipper Luke Chambers has been named in the starting line-up for tonight’s Championship clash with Derby County at Portman Road following a day of speculation regarding his future.

It’s understood that the Blues have spent the day in negotiations with Nottingham Forest regarding a deadline day deal for the 31-year-old, the defender having recently admitted he was miffed at the lack of negotiations ahead of his current contract expiring this summer.

Blues boss Mick McCarthy has made three changes to his team following Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Preston. Jordan Spence, Paul Digby and Kevin Bru have replaced Josh Emmanuel, Toumani Diagouraga and Grant Ward. That means a switch back to a wing-back system.

Derby boss Steve McClaren has made two enforced changes to his team following last Friday night’s 2-2 draw with Leicester in the FA Cup. Jacob Butterfield and Abdoul Camara replace the injured Will Hughes and Johnny Russell respectively.

Town nemesis David Nugent is unavailable with a knee injury.
