MAGPIES hosted Beccles, looking to continue their good form after the win last week. Magpies started strongly, with a long period of possession and often threatening the opposition goal, then Beccles stepped up their game and put some pressure on the Magpies defence, but to no avail.

A Magpies free hit lead to some great passes through the middle, Keira Booty picking up the ball to go one on one with the keeper, and she showed some fine skill to score the first goal, and this lead was taken into half time. Coming out confident of their ability and wanting the win, Magpies worked even harder to fend off Beccles, working tirelessly up the wings and were rewarded when they won a short corner, well taken by Kira Wooltorton, who was unlucky not to score the initial shot, but the rebound off the keeper found Beth Alexander who tucked it in the corner to make it 2-0, which was the final score. The thirds now have a week’s break and resume with an away match against Dereham III.
