MAGPIES travelled to Thetford looking to keep their unbeaten record after a good start to the new season. A strong start by Magpies put pressure on the home side with the midfield working well moving the ball around, working their way into the opposition D, and consecutive short corners lead to a Jemima Jacobs goal.
This was followed shortly by Dominique Dyball adding another for Magpies making it 2-0 going into the break. Coming back out with confidence, the whole team pushed forward which lead to Player of the Match Rosie Chubbock breaking through and slipping the ball past the keeper.
Thetford had a spell of possession but barely troubled Magpies’ defence, the away side showing the better skill, and a final push with a Catriona McIver goal ended the game at 4-0. A strong display from Magpies, strength they will need to show next week when hosting Pelicans II, who are only one position lower in the table.
